I'm A Flirt

Just a quick NOTD here for my beautiful followers:
I recently (last week) picked up this gorgeous purple, red, deep nail color from Sally Hansen Xtreme wear collection

It was only $1.99 at my local Dollar General and I used it for the first time today.  This color is gorgeous and I think would look amazing on all skin tones.  I think this color is just beautiful and doesn't need anything extra to make it so pretty.  I used two coats of this and it was perfectly opaque and then Seche Vite to top it with, for a lot of shine!!!

Like I have said, I own quite a few of these Xtreme wear polishes and they are slowly becoming some of my favorite drugstore nail polishes.  Do you own any of these?  What are your favorite?!

Also, out and about yesterday...my best friend and I were searching Target when we found the cutest, brightest shirts EVER.
(We seriously could pass as sisters sometimes!)
These shirts are very thin and need a tank top underneath of them but they are so bright and comfortable!  They have a cute little pocket on the left side too! I'm not big into fashion but I thought they were adorable and only $12.99 each.  I think I will be wearing this shirt a lot come summer time.
(Just wanted to add this one in to show the BRIGHHHTTness of my shirt)

What do you think of my bright, highlighter yellow shirt?  It basically glows in the dark its so bright! haha I love it!

Dream Bouncy Blushes

Another blush review today, Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes.  Out of the line of 10, I own 2 currently.  I have #70 in Hot Tamale and #30 in Candy Coral.
(#30 on the left, #70 on the right)

The Dream Bouncy Blushes are a new blush line from Maybelline that came out about two months ago.  I found mine at Ulta for $7.99 each.  When I bought them they were running a buy one, get one half off sale though.  The other shades in the line range from lighter pinks, neutral colors and a plum/wine.

The formulation on these is, interesting.  It feels like a gel formula in pan but when you get it on your face, it dries like a powder.  They do feel quite "bouncy" to the touch as well.  I just use my fingers to apply mine since I think the product would get lodged in bristles on a brush.

These just give you a sheer wash of color, but are easily build able.  I think these are nice for a day look, but they wear off pretty quickly.  Id say somewhere around 4-5 hours of wear time is all your going to get out of these unless you set them with an alike color.  They are interesting to try at least once, but I don't think I would go out of my way to repurchase any more colors, as my powder blushes work just fine.

(#70 built up on the left, and sheered out on the right)

(My #30 is a little beat up after using it a few times, since the product moves around in the pan)

(#30 built up on the right, and sheered out on the right)

Do any of you own these, or other colors?  What do you think of them?

Always,
Justinerawr

Tag, you're it!

So today I was reading my daily feed and stumbled upon this tag done by beautyfashionbyme.blogspot.com, I thought it was a cute little tag, so I figured why not!

Coke or Pepsi? Coke, all the way. Diet coke FTW!

Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt? I love all forms of ice cream, but lately I have been into frozen yogurt more, cookies and cream frozen yogurt to be exact!

Clothes or Makeup? I am very simple when it comes to clothes (jeans and vneck tshirt kind of girl) so I chose makeup.

Hairspray or Frizz Lotion? Hairspray, my hair isn’t too frizzy.

T.V or Book? I love reading, but I watch TV a lot more than I read. So, Tv.

Pool or Beach? Hmm, beach! I don’t live near a beach but when I get the chance to go, I prefer it over a pool.

Water or Soda? Soda. Diet coke is my weakness.

Sandals or Boots? Im actually a flip flop girl myself, so sandals.

Purse or Backpack? I prefer a purse but I do love carrying around my Ninja Turtle backpack.

Team Jacob or Team Edward? Ohhhhh, Edward =)

Wizards of Waverly Place or Hannah Montana? If I have to chose, Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena Gomez is so darn cute.

Mall or Online Shopping? I’m wayyy into online shopping, I think I have a problem.

Tennis or Soccer? Umm, neither? Ill take Hockey or Football (American)

MAC or Maybelline? I use a mix of both. I would have to say MAC because I use it more, but I enjoy many Maybelline products.

I tag everyone to do this!

Ps, how cute is this Hello Kitty mini dresser that I got at Target for $20?!?!? It's scented!!!  I am using it to hold lip glosses right now =)

I Wanna See Your Peacock!

So today I was going to have two reviews on a couple of my favorite mascaras but unfortunately I haven’t got around to taking pictures of both of them on my actual lashes. I think it would be kind of silly to post a mascara review without seeing how they look on my lashes! So instead I’m going to do a NOTD.

I love doing NOTD posts, and I think they are fun to read and see what combinations other people come up with. Lately, I have been big into putting glitter on just my accent (ring finger) nail. I think it gives the manicure something a little special without being over the top!

This look was created with my main color being Blue It by Sally Hansen. It is one of their Xtreme Wear nail polishes. I bought this on sale at my local Dollar General for only $1! I love this color. It’s a true, royal blue that has a very glossy, shimmery look to it and applies well. I have on two coats in the pictures below. I have quite a few of these Xtreme Wear nail polishes and I do love the formula of them. The brush is also one of the larger brushes that Sally Hansen is known for, and I do quite adore these.

The glitter polish that I have on my ring finger is called Lemme See Your Peacock by Icings. (I wanna see your peacock-cock-cock) I love this color. It is a chunky light blue, light green and pinky-purple glitter in a clear jelly base that you need a few coats for it to be opaque. I put this over top of two coats of Blue It, to make sure there was no nail showing through. This cost me $4.50 at Icings. I do really love almost any glitter polish that Icings puts out!

This combination is fun and cute for a weekend look. I did wear this to work for about 3 days and got a lot of compliments on the colors! What do you guys think about this look? What other glitters do you recommend?

Also, I would love some feedback from you guys on what type of posts you most like to see. Anything from haul, review, FOTD, NOTD, or anything at all! Currently I am working on a few reviews, a blush collection/overview of my favorite blushes and a current makeup and fragrance wish list! Help me make the most of this blog for the both of us!

Also, I would like to give a special thanks to everyone that has followed me so far! I currently have 19 followers and I AM THRILLED!!! I love the feedback and once I hit 100 followers I will be doing a giveaway! Anyways, thank you all so much for making the start of my blog awesome!

Benefit CORALista

I will be doing my first review today on a product that I have owned for quite some time now. I think I bought this product in April of 2011. It’s the CORALista blush box from Benefit. I bought this from Ulta for $28 dollars (for .28 oz) you can also purchase this on sephora.com and benefit.com, or at a Sephora.

The box that I have is the original box where the lid is separate from the box itself and I hate this design, it’s not very convenient. I noticed that all of the newer boxes are starting to have the lid attached now, so I’m happy to see the change!

This blush is a coral, peachy pink that has some golden shimmer in it. When I apply this blush, it is very illuminating and warms the completion. Many times when I wear this, I don’t feel the need to add a cheek highlighter on top of this because it is so brightening. It applies smooth and has decent color payoff. (In one of the pictures below I have the color built up on the left and sheered out on the right) This color works best on lighter to medium skin tones. I think on darker skin tones this could look a little ashy.

One thing that is big positive for me with this blush is the scent. It has a light floral scent to it. You can’t smell it too much on your cheeks but you can when you open up the box to apply it. I’m not a huge fan of floral scents but this one is light enough that it is very pleasant and not overpowering.

This blush is a little on the expensive side at $1 per every .1 oz but with the color and scent, I think it is well worth it and I would defiantly repurchase this product.

Do any of you have this blush? If so, let me know what you think of it!

Face of the day

I was getting ready the other night to head out to dinner and I was just playing around with a couple ideas for a simple yet pretty look. I went easy but fun on the eyes and a brighter lip (which I don’t normally go for) Just wanted to share this look with you guys and share a list of products I used, in case you want to recreate this.

I always moisturize first, so the first thing I do in a look is use my Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion all over, usually two passes too (because I have very dry and flaky skin)

Face:
Make Up Forever HD Primer-Original
Mac Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Light as foundation
Two Faced Pink Leopard Bronzer as blush
Nars Orgasm Illuminator as a cheek highlight
NYC Bronzer in Sunny all over the face

Eyes:
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion on the bottom waterline
NYC liquid liner in black on the upper lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Electric on the outer half of the top lashes (above the liquid liner)
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Binge on the inner half of the top lashes (above the liquid liner)
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Mildew smudged out on the outer half of the bottom lashes
NYX Jumbo Eye shadow pencil in Milk on the inner tear duct corner
Mac Eye shadow in Gesso overtop of Milk to set
Mac Eye shadow in Idol Eyes overtop of Gesso for a sparkle
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black on the top lashes
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black on the bottom lashes

Lips:
Mac Up the Amp-Amplified finish-Lipstick
Revlon Lip Butter in Gumdrop over top of Up the Amp

Then I used Mac Fix+ and Urban Decay All Night setting spray over my whole face to set this look.

I hope you guys enjoy this look!

Fly Shatter

Obviously I am on a nail polish kick here, since apparently it’s the only thing I know lately so why not make another blog post about nail polish, weeeee!

I love the colors that came out with the Nicki Minaj O.P.I collection but the two that caught my eye the most were Fly and the Super Bass Shatter.
Fly is the teal, creamy polish and let me say officially I LOVE THIS!!! This is probably one of my favorite polishes in my whole collection. It is super creamy, opaque and beautiful. I love the formulation, the brush and how it applies. It goes on very smooth and I could have gotten away with only one coat, even though I went with two just to be on the safe side. I was debating on getting this polish because I thought I could possibly find something similar while I was in Ulta. I went looking all up and down the nail polishes and could not find a single polish that looked even close to this one. I knew I had to have it, even though I’m not usually an O.P.I fan, because of the price. Boy am I happy I actually bought this one.

The other one that I bought was the Super Bass Shatter. I bought this one after seeing sayanythingbr00ke review it on her YouTube channel. I thought it was gorgeous and could have so many possibilities for layering. I ended up going home the night I bought these two and put them on together and WHOA BABY did I love the look I ended up with. The shatter has a very good “shattering” effect, which makes this girl a happy girl. The light blue, green, teal amazingness underneath the sparkly pink, purple, goldish shatter was a look that I couldn’t take my eyes off of. I wore this for a few days before the tips started to wear, and then I just replaced it with just two coats of Fly on its own. I wore this around until it was almost completely chipped off my nails (tacky, I know)

I would wear this color every day if I didn’t have so many choices that I wanted to wear all the time. I keep having to stop myself from picking this color when I go to do my nails (bad Justine, use something new!) I think I might even go get another one, just so I have a back up.

I purchased mine from Ulta at $8.50 a piece, soooo worth it in my opinion. Just look at that teal! Uh, okay, I’m done drooling now.

Wake and Flake

So I wanted to do a quick review on the Flaky polish that I own from Finger Paints. I know these are blowing up all over the place right now and I only own one of them, which makes me incredibly sad, but I figured I would share my insight on it anyways.

The one out of the collection of 5 that I own is Flecked. This one is a flaky (OOObviously, Justine) polish that reflects mainly green. There are slight hints of blue in this as well, but overall it is different shades of green. I love the effect that this gives over black polish; the one pictured is Black Expressionism from Finger paints. I have not tried this polish over anything but black and white yet, but I think over a darker green or even blue would look pretty wicked.

The black polish, Black expressionism, is quite exceptional as well. It is very thick and opaque on one pass. I was happy I purchased this because I have not been able to find a good black polish.

Both of these retail for $5.99, I think, but since I bought mine from Sally’s Beauty Supply, it was only $4.99. I would love to go back and get a couple more of these, if I can find them anywhere!

Tell me what you guys think of the flaky polishes, and which ones should I get that I am missing. Also, what other brands have you found that have good flakies?

Justinerawr

First post, weeee

My first couple of blogs will be nails of the day, so to speak. I think this is a good idea to get the feel for my blog and start off with a couple of posts that will be simple, yet informative (I hope!) Soooo, today will be about a nail look I did a few weeks ago. It is a dark, swampy green with rainbow reflective glitter on just the tips. Putting the glitter on just the tips gives the polish a more “manicured” look and the polish I have looks a lot like rhinestones when applied like this.

The Green that I used for this look is Suvi by Zoya, a very dark green with green micro glitter. It has more of a frosted finish than a glittery one. When you first apply the polish, it has a light black base that the glitter almost sits in, but after about 2 coats it turns into the green you see from the bottle. The first layer is very sheer but once you get that second coat on, it fills in quite nicely. I got this polish when Zoya was having their deal that if you paid shipping cost, you got 3 polishes for free. So I have had this for a long time now and just got around to actually using it. I am very pleased with the results.

The rainbow, holographic, amazing, spectacular top coat that I put on the tips of my nails is called Frost yourself by Icings. I received this polish for Christmas from my best friend in a four pack of amazing glitter polishes. Icings polish gets a bad rep sometimes because of where it comes from, but I personally own a lot of Icings (mainly because of the best friend working in said store) and because I do like the formula on most of them. This polish has a mixture of hexagonal silver glitter and smaller circular silver glitter in a clear base. It gives off the most amazing sparkle and it can’t even come close to be caught in pictures. After seeing the glitter from Electropop by China Glaze, they look very similar. I think you could get away with this one, at the cheaper price and still have the same effect. (I have not swatched the glitter from Electropop so I’m not sure on how thick the glitter applies compared to Frost Yourself)
I love the way this looks with the glitter only on the tips, and since I have done this same concept with different colors and glitters. I think it is just a simple look that is eye-catching. My pictures don’t do it justice, but this is a gorgeous combination!
